Another Wisconsin Serial Killer Featured In Netflix Series
Who knew Wisconsin had so many serial killers? Ryan Murphy's 'Monster" series has been a huge success. The first season of Monster: 'Dahmer' is actually the third-most-watched series in Netflix History.
I just finished binge-watching season 2 which focused on the Menendez Brothers. The series is chilling, gruesome, and captivating. Season 3 looks to be even bigger.
Season 1 focused on Wisconsin serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer played by Evan Peters. That earned him a Golden Globe for his performance.
Season 3 Will Focus On Wisconsin Serial Killer Ed Gein
Monster season 3 will go back to the 1950s for a notorious serial killer who was so disturbing that he was the inspiration for movies like Silence Of The Lambs, and Psycho. Ed Gein was a serial killer and body snatcher. He committed the crimes in Plainfield, Wisconsin.
Sons Of Anarchy Star Charlie Hunnam Plays Gein
Charlie Hunnam, who we all know from Sons of Anarchy on FX has transformed into Ed Gein for the role. Other notable names include Laurie Metcalf who will play Gein's mother.
What is Gein guilty of?
Gein confessed to killing tavern owner Mary Hogan in 1954 and a hardware store owner Bernice Worden in 1957. Authorities believe he was responsible for even more deaths.
He also admitted to exhuming graves and taking body parts as trophies. He's the inspiration behind "Wild Bill" in Silence Of The Lambs. When authorities searched his house they found human bones, skulls on bedposts, human skin covering chairs, a wastebasket made of human skill, masks made from skin, and much more.
Production underway.
Initial photos of Hunnam in character as Gein leaked out in November, with production underway.
