We have been pretty spoiled so far this fall, if you could even call it that! It has been downright warm in the Northland.

Sure, we've had a few brisk days here and there but otherwise, we've had a great run. We even broke some weather records in Duluth last month.

We all know that something has to give at some point. The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting snow in the forecast in just a few days!

While this may or may not come true, one thing is for sure: this winter is going to be rough because we've just had it too good. Isn't that Murphy's Law or something?

We'll have to see how things shake out but I thought it would be fun to look into some weather folklore to see what type of things we should be looking out for before winter hits for good.

I can't lie. I was surprised by a ton of things I came across! A lot of this weather folklore involved animals, like squirrels to raccoons to deer to cows and then some. That's not all.

Some weather folklore for our neck of the woods also includes fog, thunder and halos around the moon. I have never paid attention to any of the things on this list but I sure will now! I want to know how bad winter is going to be before it strikes in Wisconsin.
