Holy freakin’ cow — that is basically the only practical response to tonight’s late-breaking news. Jeff Goldblum is officially returning to the land of the dinosaurs to reprise his iconic role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the upcoming Jurassic World sequel. Will he remove his shirt? Will he deliver the signature goofy laugh that spawned one of the greatest YouTube remixes of all time? Will he be bringing any of his former co-stars (like Laura Dern, who recently expressed an interest) with him? We have, uh, so many questions.

Don Rickles’ talents were seemingly limitless: An outrageous insult comic, a gifted dramatic actor, a welcome sight on stages and screens (big and small), and a constant presence whose career endured for decades, often surpassing his contemporaries. And now he’s gone on to join them, as the legendary Rickles passed away today, April 6, at the age of 90.

Start marking your calendars now (and apologize to your loved ones in advance for your lack of interaction) because Netflix is looking pretty stacked in March. In addition to the usual assortment of recent releases, old favorites and contemporary classics, next month brings premieres of new Netflix Original series like Love Season 2, Grace and Frankie Season 3, and — last but far from least — the latest addition to Marvel’s Defenders lineup.

This week, Milla Jovovich’s Alice (we know her name is Alice because she says “My name is Alice” like, 12 times in every movie) returns to the big screen to battle viral zombies yet again in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. As the title implies, this is to be the last sequel in the franchise, which would be great because Milla clearly deserves a nap — I say “would be” because, as movie franchise history has taught us, there is no such thing as a final chapter. We lost an incomparable actress, writer, icon, and amazing human being when Carrie Fisher passed away on December 27, 2016. No one is feeling that loss as deeply as those closest to her, and in the days since Fisher’s passing, we’ve had the privilege of reading and hearing some of their remembrances. You’d be forgiven for already forgetting (or intentionally erasing from your memory) the Green Hornet movie from 2011 — it’s hard to blame director Michel Gondry and star / screenwriter Seth Rogen for the underwhelming revival of the classic hero, as neither were well-equipped to handle the pressures of making a big-budget studio film at the time. But it looks like The Green Hornet is getting another chance, this time with director Gavin O’Connor and words like “edgy” and “badass” being tossed around.

Among the usual biopics and awards season fare, Jackie has emerged as an intriguing contender — an atypical biopic about one of America’s most famous tragedies, told from the perspective of our most iconic First Lady, and directed by a Chilean filmmaker (who has not one, but two biopics hitting theaters this December). Following its premiere at TIFF in September, Jackie immediately became one of our most anticipated films of this awards season, and this new trailer isn’t making us any less patient for its release.

He’s had a hand in creating some of the most beloved superheroes of all time for Marvel, but now comic-book icon Stan Lee is getting the hero treatment. 20th Century Fox has reportedly acquired the rights to Lee’s life story with the intention of turning it into a fictional action-adventure movie set in the 1970s, with Lee as a James Bond-style protagonist — now there’s a series of words you’d never conceive of stringing together.
