Do you love to fish, but you’re on a budget – or you want to try a new spot? Do you want to learn how to fish but don’t really know where to start? Or are you like me, where you’ve thought about fishing this summer but don’t have a fishing license?

Either way, I have a bit of good news for you. I just found out that you can fish for free in many Minnesota state parks this summer – and you don’t even need a license or trout stamp. How cool is that? It’s been years since I’ve gone fishing, so this might be all the incentive I need to pick it up again. I’m pretty excited.

Don’t have any fishing gear? Some state parks will borrow you some free fishing kits – but it’s first-come, first-served.

If you want to see which parks are offering free fishing, you can take a look at this map from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
