UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning area has shifted farther west. Rice and Le Sueur  Blue Earth and other Counties now included.

For those that want more time on winter activities, you are happy with the forecast. But spring high school games are going to get backed up and rescheduled with the forecast of more snow and cold temperatures.

The National Weather Servicve says snow across central Minnesota today and southeast Minnesota, and western Wisconsin tonight and tomorrow...

.A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for southeast Minnesota and
west central Wisconsin tonight through Tuesday. Accumulations of
5 to 8 inches are likely in this area.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for central Minnesota
starting at 1 PM this afternoon and lasting through 1 AM tonight.
Accumulations of 2 of 4 inches are likely in this area.

Meanwhile, a Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for areas in
south central Minnesota and parts of far west central Wisconsin
from late tonight through Tuesday evening. Accumulations of 6 to 9
inches are possible in this area.

Snow will develop this afternoon in central Minnesota. Another
round of snow will develop later tonight and continue into early
Tuesday evening before tapering off. The snow may be heavy at
times. In addition, winds gusting as high as 35 mph could cause
some blowing and drifting snow.

The Winter Storm Warning includes the counties of Goodhue-Waseca-Steele-Faribault-Freeborn-Wabasha-Dodge-Olmsted-Winona-Mower-Fillmore-Houston-Pepin-Chippewa-
Eau Claire.

The Winter Storm Watch includes: Redwood-Brown-Nicollet-Le Sueur-Rice-Watonwan-Blue Earth-Martin-Pierce-Dunn.

WInter Weather Advisory is the darker blue in the north. Special advisory area is the tan color and Winter storm watch is the area in lighter blue and the Winter Storm Warning is the pink area
