In a pair of games postponed by wet weather Monday, WEM beat NRHEG 13-6 in baseball and 14-4 in softball Tuesday.

Panther baseball led 6-2 after two innings, but ran thin on pitching in the late innings. The Buccaneers plated six runs in the fifth inning and pushed across five more in the seventh.

"Jake Tasker made his first career varsity start as a freshman and did a nice job against a very good Waterville hitting team," said NRHEG coach Drew Paukert, who added, "Due to the new pitching policy and having limited arms for tonight we probably left him in there longer than we would have liked."

Evan Dobberstein had three hits for the Panthers, who host Maple River on Thursday.

NRHEG softball lost in five innings at WEM 14-4. The Buccaneers pounded out 14 hits. Coach Wendy Schultz says, "Rachel Collins had a nice night defensively. She had three great catches, turning one of them into a double play." NRHEG plays Maple River at Mapleton on Thursday.

Blooming Prairie softball went back and forth with Maple River on Tuesday, but lost 11-7. The Awesome Blossoms jumped out 3-0 but the Eagles pulled even at 3-3 in the third. The teams each scored twice in the fourth and the game was 5-5. Maple River went ahead for good with a five-run fifth inning. Julia Worke, Maya Lembke and Bria Baldwin each had two hits for Blooming Prairie. BP goes to USC on Thursday.

Blooming Prairie's boys golf team won a five-team meet at New Richland, shooting 166. Lucas Noble carded a 36 to win the medalist honor. Tommy Braaten shot 39. Maple River was second with 182, USC had 192, Faribault BA shot 200 and NRHEG had 207. Oakley Baker led the Panthers with 46.

Blooming Prairie's girls played at Willow Creek in Rochester. Taylor Christensen shot 94 and finished eighth. Alex Nutter of team champ La Crescent had the low score with 77.
