Waseca Garden Walk is Sunday, Details on AM Minnesota

The Waseca Garden Club hosts a Garden Walk this Sunday rain or shine from 1-5PM. All locations are free and open to the public.

Representatives of the event are scheduled to join us on today's KDHL AM Minnesota program beginning at 9:30AM.

There are seven stops on the Garden Walk, which begins at the Bailey/Lewer House.

Maps and refreshments are available there.

Other gardens featured include:

Kris Sibilrud, 709 Second Ave. N.E., Waseca. Kris has a cottage garden with a large variety of plant materials and lots of unusual decorative items are tucked into various places.
Jill Berge and Tom Thiesse, 505 16th Ave. S.E., Waseca. Jill and Tom took an old birch tree and enhanced it with flowers.
Sue and Jerome Stangler, 40150 120th St., Waseca. The Stanglers have lived on this farm for four decades. By using no pesticides or fertilizers they have developed an apple orchard with 30 varieties of apple trees and two new pear trees. There are several large flower and vegetable gardens, and you might want to peak inside the restored 1860s barn.
Tracy Coe-Fenske and Rich Ristau, 38748 90th St., Janesville. Tracy and Rich have created a number of gardens on the farmstead with a great variety of plants and color.
Pat and Steve Forshee, 710 Fifth St. S.W., Waseca. Forty years ago this couple started from scratch and have a garden filled with half perennials and half annuals.
Community Gardens, 35838 120th St., Waseca. This was developed in 2000 and has become an invaluable resource for area residents with limited garden space at home to have their own garden.
