Had three pigs never fallen through a sinkhole back in 1924, we may never have discovered the cave to begin with!

At least, that's how the story goes when it comes to the Niagara Cave in Harmony, Minnesota. Their squeals led searchers through a half mile of underground tunnels beneath a Fillmore County farm field and the rest, they say, is history.

If that's not neat enough for you, Niagara Cave was recently named to a Bucket-List Destination to visit from all 50 states according to USA Today!

The newspaper’s Bruce Guenter writes, “The cave became the first in the world to use solar power to light its underground cavern in 2015. The underground tours follow passages carved by an ancient underground stream. Check out the 60-foot underground waterfall that gave the cave its name, an echo chamber, fossils and even a subterranean wedding chapel.”

I've never been there, but all the things I've heard about it sounds incredible. Be a fun spot to take my kids once they're older.

Also within that article, GoBankingRates.com put together a list of fun things to do in each state ranging from free to just under $20. Not surprisingly, the Mall of America landed on Minnesota's list, but in Iowa, it was the Iowa State Fair.

Having grown up in Des Moines, my wife and her family swear it's the best time in the world! With tickets only $8, there's plenty of music and food to go around. Plus, there's a giant Butter Cow sculpture made up of 600 pounds of pure-cream Iowa butter.

Do those Iowans know how to party, or what?
