Upcoming Ice Cream Socials in Southern Minnesota

There will be a pair of ice cream socials on Sunday, June 26, and you could go to both if you wish.

Zion Lutheran will theirs from 11AM to 1PM. The menu includes BBQ, hot dogs, potato salad, calico beans, fruit cup, chips, pie, coffee, lemonade and ice cream. There will be a church service at 8:15AM.

The church is 4 miles north of Beaver Lake on Southwest 98th Street.

Take a short break and then head to St. John Church of Claremont in Havana Township. They'll be serving from 3-7PM with donations accepted. The menu includes BBQ, egg salad croissants, potato salad, baked beans, chips, pie, ice cream, coffee and lemonade. Donations will be accepted. To get to the church, take Highway 14 to South County Road 16 for 2 miles. Proceeds will benefit the St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop, Minn., was destroyed by fire in March.
