NRHEG was leading WEM 6-0 with 1:31 remaining in the fourth quarter when the game was postponed due to weather conditions Tuesday night. It will be finished on Wednesday.

The Panthers will face a fourth down on their own side of midfield when the action resumes in New Richland at 7PM Wednesday. The winner goes to Kenyon-Wanamingo on Saturday night in the Section 2AA semifinals. The Knights beat Medford 43-24, a far closer game than their regular season matchup. Top seed Maple River won 26-0 over Le Sueur-Henderson in a game called at halftime due to the weather.

In Section 1A, Blooming Prairie raced by Southland 43-6. Connor Getchell rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass and made a two-point conversion. The Awesome Blossoms play at top seed Rushford-Peterson on Saturday night at 7PM on Kat Kountry 105FM. The Trojans shutout Kingsland 52-0 in the quarterfinals Tuesday. Goodhue blanked Wabasha-Kellog 20-0 and Fillmore Central dominated Hayfield 55-7 in the other games.

Triton survived their Section 1AA playoff opener 27-21 over Chatfield. The Gophers rallied late due to a pair of Cobra turnovers. Triton gets a rematch with Zumbrota-Mazeppa, who edged Dover-Eyota 13-7 Tuesday. ZM beat Triton early in the season on the last play of the game. Top seed Caledonia handled Winona Cotter 45-14 and Lewiston-Altura topped St. Charles 43-22.

Section 1-5A saw a pair of upsets in the quarterfinals. Austin won their fourth in a row and avenged a season-opening loss to Rochester John Marshall with a 28-12 victory. The Packers come to Owatonna on Saturday night for a 7PM kickoff on KRFO AM 1390. Rochester Century eliminated Rochester Mayo 32-13. The Panthers go to Northfield on Saturday.

In Section 1-4A, Kasson-Mantorville beat Red Wing 37-0 and Byron shaded Albert Lea 14-13. Winona and Stewartville had first-round byes and will host games Saturday. In Section 2-4A, Faribault rallied past Mankato East 19-18 after blowing a lead. Waseca downed New Ulm 28-7. Marshall and Hutchinson had first-round byes.
