Tour Rice County Solid Waste Facility with River Bend Nature Center

Seniors and other adults are invited to tour the Rice County Solid Waste Facility from 1-3PM today with River Bend Nature Center.

Waste supervisor Paul Pieper will lead the tour and will show participants what happens to Rice County trash, recycling, and hazardous waste materials after they are sent to the facility. Tour participants will learn what can and cannot be recycled, how landfills are constructed, and which household materials are considered hazardous waste.

Participants may meet at the Rice County Solid Waste Facility, 3800 145th St. E., Dundas, or may meet at River Bend Nature Center at 1PM to travel as a group in a 15-passenger van.
