I was saddened a bit that Torii Hunter decided to call it a career. I figured with helping the Minnesota Twins have a better year that he would stick around for one more. The Twins could be contenders next year with some more improvements in the pitching department.

Because of his leadership on and off the field, I hope that he may stay on with the Twins in some capacity. I think he is a good motivator. I know he has said that now is the time for him to spend more time with his family. So my guess is that he may want to take some time and do that.

Hunter is scheduled to have a press conference on Thursday and we will pass along details of what he said on our newscasts and on line after that conference is done. I am hoping the Twins have made him an offer to do something and he is going to say yes.

I have always been a big Torii Hunter fan. He kept it real, and was not egotistical. He remembered where it started. In the words of Tina Turner, "He's simply the best. Better than all the rest."
