I will never understand why people in Minnesota, when the first storm of the season hits, have to drive like it's a beautiful summer day. Does nobody listen or watch weather and traffic reports anymore?

The snow was just starting in the Cities when I left. There was enough on the roads to make things greasy already. But yet it was "let's tailgate people, let's drive fast" on the roads. Is it really that important to get to work that it's worth risking your life or others?

I drove 40-45 mph most of the way, and it went just fine.

So the words for today: slow down.

The Winter Storm Warning continues until midnight Wednesday. You can get school announcements as well as other event announcements on our website at Weather Closings. You can get road information by calling 511 on your phone or by going to 511mn.org.
