David Smith Jr., better known as the Human Cannonball, will be returning to the 2017 Steele County Free Fair. Dave has been launched over the fairgrounds for many years and is still one of the highlights of the fair. He's scheduled to be launched over the Gold Star Midway each day of the fair at 5:30PM and 8:30PM and on Sunday at 2:30PM and 6:30PM. You can read and see more of his feats on Dave Smith's Facebook page.

Another popular attraction that's returning to this summer's fair is Hairball. They'll be performing in the grandstand on Thursday night of the fair.

Additional fair notes include the fact that nomination forms are available for the 2017 Steele County Citizen Volunteer of the Year. On Senior Day at the fair, a Steele County male and female senior citizen volunteer 65 and older will be honored. Forms are available at the Fair office, SeniorPlace in Owatonna or call Bruce Kubicek at (507) 451-6616. Forms are also found at the Steele County Free Fair website.

Dates for the fair are August 15-20.

Todd Hale and guests return for another edition of Fair Talk on AM 1390 KRFO starting June 8 at 9:40AM and continuing each Thursday through the week before the fair.
