The high school wrestling section team tournaments get underway this week. Owatonna will host Rochester Mayo on Thursday at 6PM at the OHS gym and on KRFO AM 1390.
Owatonna had a strong finish to their conference season with a 44-18 win at Faribault Friday night. The teams might face off again next weekend in the section tournament.
No. 1AA Kasson-Mantorville defeated No. 8AAA Owatonna 46-15 on Takedown Cancer NIght at Owatonna High School. The boys swimmers earned their first win of the season at Faribault.

An undermanned Owatonna High School wrestling team ended up with a fourth-place finish Saturday, going 1-2 at the Zumbrota-Mazeppa duals.The Huskies face a big section match-up Thursday at Lakeville South.
The Huskies won the final three weights by pin to finish a come-from-behind 40-35 win over Rochester JM. The injury-plagued Huskies trailed 35-22 before the rally.
Holiday tournament action continued Wednesday. Owatonna High School wrestler Brandon Moen captured first place at the Rumble on the Red. OHS boys basketball won their home tournament.
Owatonna's girls hockey team pulled out a 4-3 win at South St. Paul on Saturday with a big third period. The OHS wrestlers finished in the middle of the pack at the Christmas Tournament.
Owatonna High School wrestling is ranked sixth in Class AAA in the December 11 rankings. That's up one spot after beating then-No. 6 Hastings on December 4.
