Another week, another big game for Owatonna junior running back Jason Williamson. He set a single-game OHS rushing record with about 335 yards in Friday's 46-7 win over Rochester Century. That breaks the mark set by Sam Hylle against Austin in 2015.

The streets throughout downtown Owatonna were jam packed with Huskies' fans for the annual homecoming parade.

With a capacity crowd on hand and the nicest weather of the football season so far, Owatonna steamrolled their way to a 48-0 victory over Mankato East. It was the Huskies second shutout of the season.

Junior Jason Williamson is on the verge of moving into the top five among Owatonna High School all-time leading rushers.

The Owatonna High School football program will sack cancer Friday October 6 during their game against Rochester Century. Fans are invited to order special t-shirts at The Hat Chic in downtown Owatonna through September 28.

Owatonna put another game into running time as they whipped John Marshall 42-6 Friday night in Rochester. The Huskies led 28-0 at the half and their starters scored on six of their seven drives.

Owatonna, Northfield, Mankato West and Winona all won lopsided games Friday night to improve to 3-0. At least one of those teams will lose next week, as the Scarlets go to the Winhawks.

Owatonna's Nolan Malo told me, "It's just fun to play on Friday nights." The senior expected to be the backup receiver to Dalton Kubista, like he was last year. Then coach Doug Wanous asked him about switching to tight end.

Owatonna used a big second quarter to give themselves plenty of breathing room in their showdown with Rochester Mayo Friday. Austin and Winona used huge second stanzas in their wins as well.
