Huskies baseball capped their week with a double header sweep of Mankato East 5-1 and 3-2 Friday at Siebert Field at the University of Minnesota.

Senior Clay Leidall tossed a three-hit complete game in the Huskies 4-1 win at Century High School. Owatonna cashed in on two opportunities to score their runs.

Owatonna baseball continues its week of road trips with a 5PM game at Rochester Century on Thursday, with the action on KRFO AM 1390 and the Radiopup app.

After stranding runners in scoring position in the early innings, the Huskies scored five runs in the sixth inning of their 9-4 win at Hayek Field in Albert Lea.

The Huskies have played four close games to start the 2016 fast-pitch season. The Tigers just lost a close contest to defending Big Nine champ Mankato West last week.

The Skippers jumped out to a quick 9-1 lead but Owatonna battled back in the rain before losing 10-5 in a nonconference game at Veterans' Field at Minnetonka High School.

Owatonna baseball won their home opener Thursday 10-0 over Faribault. The OHS golf and tennis teams all opened their seasons.

Owatonna softball travels to Faribault for a 5PM game on Thursday on KRFO AM 1390. Pregame begins at 4:50PM.

Owatonna senior Alec Holcomb was masterful on the mound, not allowing a hit until the sixth inning and striking out eight, but Northfield scored a 3-2 nine-inning win.

Huskies baseball opens its season Tuesday at defending section champ Northfield at 5PM with radio coverage on KRFO AM 1390. Pregame starts at about 4:45PM.
