We are only into August, and it seems like summer is coming to an end already. Schools have their supply lists out, and open houses are being planned, especially for the Owatonna schools since there are so many changes this year. I am seeing Fall decorations out at the local retailers, and I am getting the urge to start my Fall cleaning.

I recently received a message about the Curling season, and they are looking to set up the curling club next month already. Definitely a sure sign that we are getting to the end of Summer 2017.

Of course, with the Steele County Free Fair going on next week, it is just another reminder that summer vacation is almost over. Once the fair is done, there will be a big push to finish getting the kiddos ready for school to start.

I do have to admit that my favorite season is the Fall, and I cannot wait to see the bright golds and oranges that will show up on the trees. I also am looking forward to not having to mow my lawn anymore for the year. I'm ready for bonfires, hoodies, and the smell of damp leaves in the air.  Shorter days and crisp fall mornings, with a hot cup of coffee, one of my favorite pleasures.

I am definitely going to be enjoying the rest of the summer, after all, it has been a great one.
