Steele County Free Fair mascots Stella and Steely are getting warmed up for the fair by making numerous appearances this summer. See them in Blooming Prairie this weekend.

Stella and Steely will be part of the huge parade on Monday, July 4, in Blooming Prairie, part of the Old Fashioned Fourth of July celebration there. The parade starts at 2:30PM and is just one of the many events planned.

The fair mascots will also visit residents during Crazy Days in Owatonna on July 21. After the Steele County Free Fair, Stella and Steely will appear at the Minnesota State Fair. They love to pose for pictures with kids, young and old alike.

Mega-ride tickets for the Steele County Fair go on sale July 15 exclusively at Hy-Vee Foods in Owatonna. The cost is $49 and entitles the holder to unlimited rides on the midway during the fair.

Entries are still being taken for the annual Battle of the Bands to be held on Wednesday, August 17, in the grandstand. The first six bands to enter will compete.

The Steele County Free Fair is the largest county fair in Minnesota and attracted more than 307,000 people in 2015, according to their website. Fair dates are August 16-21 in 2016.
