Steele County Road Closure Delayed

Work is scheduled to begin involving concrete repair work on County 7 or Southwest 39th Avenue between Southwest Eighth Street and Southwest 18th Street during the week of June 27. This was originally scheduled to begin the week of June 20.

The work will consist of replacing sections of the concrete roadway over trench settlements at sanitary sewer pipe crossings. The roadway will be closed to through traffic. The detour will be along Southwest 18th Street, Southwest 24th Avenue and West Bridge Street.

Along with the above mentioned work, there will also be a section of median concrete that buckled due to heat that will be replaced. This is located between Southwest 18th Street and Trunk Highway 14. Traffic will be maintained on this stretch while the work is being completed.

All work is expected to be completed by July 13 if the weather cooperates.
