Here's a couple of upcoming events at the Steele County History Center in Owatonna. Free children's programming will be offered on Thursday, October 6. The Jr. History Detectives, which is for Pre-K children, will offer Fall on the Farm/Preserving for Winter at 9AM. They will be discussing how food was preserved more than 100 years ago. The History Detectives, which is for K-6 kids, will begin at 6:30PM with a topic of Farm to Table/From Seed to Seed. Youngsters will learn about planting and raising food from 100 years ago.

The Harvest for History will return on Saturday, October 8, starting at 5:30PM. This is a farm to fork culinary experience featuring locally sourced food and wine. Chef Tim Cockram will prepare and explain the multi-course experience. Kelsey Long of Chankaska Creek Ranch will be there to showcase the wines made at the Kasota, Minnesota, winery.

Former Owatonnans Scott Rogness and Mike Chinander will provide the entertainment.
