The Crisis Resource Center of Steele County announces their 15th annual Healing the Hearts of our Children luncheon on Tuesday, March 29, from noon to 1PM. Tickets are $25 and are available at the Crisis Resource Center at 125 W. Front St. in Owatonna, from 8AM to 5PM weekdays.

The luncheon at the Owatonna Country Club will feature a program lead by Vicki Crompton. Crompton became an advocate for teen dating violence education after her 15-year-old daughter was confronted and killed by her ex-boyfriend. Crompton has appeared on numerous national TV shows such as the Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show and 60 Minutes, among others. She also has written a book.

The Crisis Resource Center has set of a goal of $15,000 this year. Last year, the Abused Children's Program provided 2,813 services to 512 children, according to executive director Sara Colby. The center has seen an increase in both the severity and frequency in child abuse cases in Steele County.
