The Steele County Relay for Life will begin with opening ceremonies at 6PM on Friday, July 21, at the Steele County Fairgrounds. The walk begins following the opening ceremony and goes until 5:45AM Saturday. The luminaries will be lit at 9PM Friday. Around 4,000 are usually lit, making for an impressive sight. There will be entertainment throughout the night as well. A silent auction will be held in the cattle barn. Food will be served in the 4-H building until midnight. The 4-H building will also serve as the bank for those who choose to donate and not participate in the walk.

The annual Daikan Dash returns for another year on Saturday morning at the fairgrounds. The race begins at 8AM. Registration is $30, or $40 on Saturday. You can learn more by going to the Daiken Dash website.

You can still sign up to be a part of the relay by going to the Steele County Relay For Life website. This year's goal is just over $100,000.
