The 66th annual Steele County Art Exhibition will open on Sunday, May 6 and remain on display through May 27 at the Owatonna Arts Center. If you've taken the time to check out the art work that's on display during the Steele County Free Fair you know of the talent displayed by Steele County artists. Many of the regular contributors and usually several new Steele County artists will have their work on display in May.

To help kick off the Exhibition the Shattuck St. Mary's Pre-conservatory program will have students perform on Sunday starting at 2PM.

Also opening on Sunday at the Owatonna Arts Center will be "The Vietnam Experience" which features drawings by Al Smith. Prior to the musical entertainment there will be a power-point program at 1:30PM Sunday detailing the art process. Shortly after the death of his son, Smith resumed doing pencil drawings. Later a Vietnam veteran friend of Smith's requested a portrait. This led Smith to draw soldiers that captured the aspects of their experience in the face of war.

There will be one more treat this weekend at the Owatonna Arts Center when Owatonna's Abigail Hansen will perform on her harp on Saturday, May 5 at 2PM.

Speaking of artists check out what Minnesota's Bob Dylan is now doing.
