Sports Chatter: Vikings, Huskies & Twins

It's hard to find a more enthusiastic sports fan for all the local sports than Todd Walkingstick. It's a pleasure to bring him on the radio occasionally to cover a wide range of sports topics. He attends most every home Vikings game, and many training camp practices, but a foot injury will leave him cheering from the comfort of his home Sunday night when Minnesota hosts New Orleans.

Walkingstick has embraced a new role in media coverage of local sports. He hosts interviews with athletes, coaches and other sports figures from throughout Steele County on Beyond the Game, an online program through OwatonnaLive.com.

Walkingstick also does a Vikings' podcast through his Facebook page and posts pictures from many Owatonna High School sporting events for people to download. He believes families should enjoy the moment of watching their kids play, rather than be distracted with trying to get that 'perfect' picture.
