Sacred Heart Church and St. Joseph's Church combined their choirs and orchestras and presented "Sounds of the Season" Christmas concert Sunday afternoon, Dec. 20, at Sacred Heart Church.

Narrators for the program were the Rev. Mr. Pat Fagan and Wendy Cichanski-Caduff. The directors were Carol Hodapp and Christopher Fazzi. The program will be broadcast on AM1390 on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 10AM and again on Christmas Eve at 1PM.

It began with the choir beginning in the loft with "Prepare the Way of the Lord." Connie Wolfe and Stephen Nelson were soloists.

The program continued "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence," with the choir coming to the front.

The choir was 35 members strong and the orchestra had 20 members, which included violins, oboe, flute, clarinet, cello, bass, french horn, trumpet, tambourine, piano and bells percussion.

The program continued with "People, Look East" and "Run, Shepards, Run."

Next was "The Lisbon Carol" with Marie Olinger and Pete Connor as soloists. Amy Introne and Paula Rue sang a duet in "Silent Night."

The audience was invited to sing in a portion of "Song of the Angels."

Sharon Gearin sang solo in "Still, Still, Still." Jennifer Candullo and Renee Appel sang a duet with "Prepare to Receive Him." Ross Janke sang solo parts in "Gesu Bambino."

"We Three Kings" followed. The audience was invited to sing along with "Joy to the World" and "O Come All Ye Faithful," with the words in the program.

Christopher Fazzi sang a Spanish song, and the words were given before hand, "El Nacimiento."

The final piece was "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" by the choir and orchestra. They received a standing ovation.
