Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric is launching a community solar project. Steele-Waseca this morning announced plans to construct a 250-panel solar array on their property on West Bridge Street in Owatonna in conjunction with a smaller solar array that Great River energy will own.

The Sunna Project allows any member to subscribe to the community solar program and, in return, be allocated the energy produced by their subscribed panel or panels to offset their monthly electric bill. Members may contact Steele-Waseca at 451-7340 to find out how they may subscribe for a 410-watt panel for less than $200.

General Manager Syd Briggs has more information.
