Smokin in Steele BBQ contest and Blues Festival is May 30-June 1 in Owatonna. The Smokin' in Steele / Gopher Sport 5K to benefit Owatonna Special Olympics is Saturday.
The annual Smokin' in Steele, presented by the Owatonna Knights of Columbus, is May 30-June 1 at the Steele County Fairgrounds in Owatonna with proceeds benefiting Owatonna Area Special Olympics.
- Backyard amateur BBQ competition, 7:00am
- Registration for the 5K walk/run, 7:00am
- Start of the 5K, 8:30am
- Mark Cameron Band, in Fair Square Park (free), 11:30
- Blues 4 Kids Harmonica lessons, Park Square (free) 1:30
- Awards Ceremony, 4:00
- Garden Tractor pull in front of grandstand (free) 4:30
- Rickey Godfrey, Beer Garden, 7:30 *
- Smokin' in Steele Band, Beer Garden, 9:30 *
* events in the Beer Garden, 2-day advance ticket $10....$8 per day at the door
SUNDAY JUNE 1
- Pancake Breakfast in the Beer Garden 8:00am
