Five law enforcement agencies worked together on a sex trafficking operation in Faribault, resulting in arrests on Thursday.

Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn says four men and two women were arrested at a Faribault hotel and will be charged by formal complaint in the near future.

The Rice County Sheriff's Office, Faribault Police Department, Northfield Police Department, Cannon River Drug and Violent Offender Task Force and the Rochester Police department were involved in the undercover operation.

The operation targeted subjects calling escort/prostitution advertisements on Backpage.com, according to Sgt. Nathan Budin of the Rice County Sheriff's Office.

The men were arrested for solicitation of prostitution and the women were arrested for prostitution.

Dunn was appreciative of the collaborative effort, saying, "We would like to thank all of the assisting agencies for their hard work and cooperation with this operation."

The Rochester Police Department received a state-funded grant and offered their assistance in the operation.

Budin says officers and deputies from Rice County have attended training sessions and other operations in sex trafficking.
