When I was growing up, I would help my mom with quilts. She made them for relatives and friends for weddings, also baby quilts. She now has all her quilt pictures in separate photo albums.

I was not not that interested in sewing when I first moved out. Then my husband and I bought our first house, and within months I was refreshing myself on how to sew on the sewing machine that she gave us for a wedding gift. I called my mom every so often to ask her a question. I usually donate my quilts.

Here is something funny. I would be sewing and then the machine would stop for some weird reason. It just so happen that my husband would come home at about that same time the machine stopped. It was a little frustrating, but I guess it was a hint that I should take a break. I did eventually get a different machine.

My mom and I made a jean quilt in one weekend. That was a blast. That is a keeper.
