Several weekend events are canceled, or at least altered by the flooded conditions. OPU assured residents Friday that Owatonna's drinking water supply is fine.

Owatonna Public Utilities released a statement to the media stating, "We have received concerns regarding the potential for contaminated drinking water in the Owatonna community. The drinking water supply in Owatonna is not contaminated and continues to meet our high standards of water quality."

The Steele County Humane Society announced the cancellation of the golf portion of the Fore the Paws fundraiser, which was scheduled for Brooktree Golf Course on Saturday, September 24. The silent auction and beer bash will go on as planned at Reggie's Brewhouse in downtown Owatonna. The silent auction is scheduled for 4-8:30PM. A beer bash takes place from 7-9PM.

Owatonna Parks and Recreation announced the skate park competition at Morehouse Park is postponed until Saturday, October 8. The park passport program is delayed. The new set of clues will be posted September 30 with completed passports due by October 14 for the chance at prizes. As of Friday all city parks were closed.

Brooktree Golf Course was closed Friday but the top nine are scheduled to be open Saturday for walkers. Park and Rec youth football games scheduled at the high school on Saturday are being moved to Manthey Park.
