There are three seats up for election on the Faribault City Council with two incumbents running.  Faribault Council Member Kay Duchene did not file to retain her seat so the city is assured of having at least one new member on the council.  All Faribault City Council seats are at large so there could be three new members also.  Current Council Members John Rowan and Janna Viscomi are seeking to retain their seats. Others filing include Peter Van Sluis, Thomas Spooner, Brian Peterson, Mona Paczkowski and Gerald Irwin.

Seven people have also filed to be members of the Faribault Public School Board.  When voters mark their ballots they will be asked to select four people to be elected.  Incumbents Richard Olson, Chad Wolff and Carolyn Treadway filed to retain their seats.  Others include John Bellingham, Courtney Cavellier, Nate Howells and Donald Novak.

County filings include:

Sheriff Troy Dunn of Faribault is running unopposed.

Attorney John Fossum of Northfield is running unopposed.

County Commissioner District 3 incumbent David Miller is running unopposed.

County Commissioner District 4 is an open seat and two individuals filed.  Current Faribault City Council Member Steve Underdahl and Gordy Kosfeld of Faribault.

State Representative Brian Daniels of Faribault filed for re-election as a Republican and Yvette Marthaler of Faribault is the DFL candidate for House District 24B.

Elsewhere in the area:  House District 20B Josh Gare of Montgomery, GOP candidate and Todd Lippert of Northfield, DFL candidate.

House District 21B incumbent Republican Steve Drazkowski of Mazeppa is seeking to retain his seat.  DFL challenger is Jonathon Isenor of Wanamingo.

State Representative District 20A Bob Vogel of Elko-New Market Republican and Barbara Droher Kline of New Prague DFL.

State Representative District 24A incumbent Republican John Petersburg of Waseca filed to retain the seat.  Two DFL candidates filed Ethan Cords and Joe Heegard both of Owatonna.

LeSueur County Sheriff: Brett Mason of Lecenter and Keith Rozeboom of Lecenter

Scott County Sheriff:  Jason Arras of Shakopee, Luke Hennen of Jordan, Duane Dewey Jirik of New Prague and Joe Theis no personal address listed.

Steele County Sheriff:  Lon Thiele of Owatonna and Darrin Helget of Owatonna filed for the office.

Waseca County Attorney: Rachel Cornelius and Brenda Miller had no addresses listed.

Waseca County Recorder: Michelle Johnson of New Richland and Linda Karst of Waseca.

Waseca County Commissioner District 5:  Dan Kuhns of Waseca and Audra Veroeven of Waseca.

Waseca County Commissioner District 4:  Alvin Grams of Janesville, Deanne Malterer of Janesville and Laurel Remund of Waseca

Steele County Commissioner District 1: Sylvia Archer of New Richland and James Brady of Waseca.

Dakota County Commissioner District 2:  Kathleen Gaylord and Todd Podgorski both of South St. Paul.

Scott County Commissioner District 2:  Michael "Mike" Beard of Shakopee and Joe Wagner of Jordan.

LeSueur County Commissioner District 3: Joe Barber and Lance Wetzel both of Lecenter.

LeSueur County Commissioner District 2:  Brad Collins, Anna Holicky, Danny O'Keefe and Joe Schloesser of Lecenter.  Maureen Franek, Dennis Lambrecht and Karen Richter of Montgomery.

LeSueur County Commissioner District 5:  Brandon Geldner and Steve "Gump" Rohlfing both of Madison Lake.

LeSueur County Auditor/Treasurer: Bob Emmons of Lecenter and Pam Simonette of Cleveland.

There are many Mayor seats up for election across the state where no filings were listed on the Minnesota Secretary of State elections site. A number of cities do have their own filing dates for city offices and school board seats.
