Minnesota Senator John Jasinkski of Faribault told KDHL AM Minnesota listeners today he supports an increase in local government aid (LGA) proposed by Governor Tim Walz.  The Republican State Senator stopped by the KDHL Sudios and discussed a number of bills he has been "Chief Author" on.  Senator Jasinski said the increase would help communities in his District 24 like Faribault, Owatonna and Waseca.

Senator Jasinski's district also includes the communities of Nerstrand, Blooming Prairie, Morristown, Claremont and Ellendale.  He told us a bill providing $100,000 for storm debris removal from Roberds Lake gets a hearing tomorrow in a Senate Committee.  Representatives of Roberd's Lake Resort and Winjum's Resort will be testifying for the measure.

Another measure sponsored by the Faribault lawmaker provides 1.4 million dollars to South Central College in Faribault for roof repair.

Some other Jasinski bills include:

  • I-35 Signage for the State Academy for the Deaf and State Academy for the Blind.
  • Deputy registrars reimbursement appropriation for funds lost due to MN-LARS problems.
  • Increasing the fine to $100 for drivers ticketed for not pulling back over to the right lane after passing as required by law.

If you didn't have the opportunity to listen to the show audio will be included here for you to enjoy at your leisure.
