After playing at 39 Blooming Prairie 4th of July celebrations, Luverne Wanous will not do so this year. Despite his retirement, Luverne will still be in Blooming Prairie on Friday as he will be roasted on the stage at 2pm. This year's Steele County Free Fair will mark the first time since 1952 that Luverne will not be performing at the fair. A special tribute to Wanous will take place at noon on Saturday at the Fair during the Old Time Day on the Fair Square Stage. Luverne stopped by the studios this week to share his memories of some of his many performances around the area.
