Here's a look at some of the upcoming events at River Bend Nature Center in Faribault.

  • The next gathering of the Rain Garden Care Crew will be Tuesday, July 12, at 4PM. This is a group of volunteers who meet once a month to maintain the rain garden in front of the Interpretive Center. It's also an opportunity to learn about plants and rain gardens.
  • The OWLS program will be Wednesday, July 20, at noon. The guest speaker will be Anna Richey of Conservation Minnesota. Her topic will be the future of North American birds. The cost is $12 per person, or $10 if you're a River Bend member. Reservations need to be made by Friday, July 15.
  • Twin Cities tracking expert Jonathan Poppele of the Minnesota Tracking Club makes an appearance at River Bend on Saturday, July 30, from 9AM to 4PM. He will be offering a one day introduction to the fundamentals of animal tracking.
  • Tuesday, August 2, from 5-6:30PM, John and Claudette Lamprecht will present a program on mushrooms. The fee is $10, or $5 if you're a River Bend member. Please register by July 29.
