Rice County is hoping people will share some time to help with tornado cleanup efforts this Saturday.  County Administrator Sara Folstad says officials want to thank those who volunteered and participated in cleanup efforts throughout the county last weekend.  There is still a lot of community assistance needed for cleanup.

If you are interested in volunteering please call 833-643-7423.  Same day registrations will also be welcomed.  They are looking for experienced chainsaw personnel and general cleanup personnel.  Food and water will be provided to the volunteers.

Volunteers are asked to report to the Rice County Fairgrounds at 1814 2nd Avenue NW, Faribault.  Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. with the cleanup scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Please bring rakes, shovels, gloves, and proper clothing and footwear.  Expect to clean up mostly tree and brush debris.

Transportation will be provided from the fairgrounds to the areas in need of assistance throughout the county.

The phone number for volunteers again is 833-643-7423 although same day registrations are welcome.

Last weekend there were 82 people assisting with cleanup efforts on Saturday and 55 on Sunday.  Authorities are hopeful more people will be able to help this weekend.
