The Owatonna Area Retired Educators Association (OAREA) conducted their 6th annual winter clothing drive recently. The group consists of over 70 retired teachers, principals, secretaries and other school workers from area schools.

This winter they collected a number of gloves, hats, mittens and monetary donations. The money along with a grant of $300 from the Retired Educators of Minnesota and $50 from the United Educators Credit Union was used to purchase around 100 airs of gloves, mittens and winter hats.

Students in need of the above items may contact Amanda Griswold at Lincoln School, Deb Westphal at St. Marys or Terri McLayghlin at Head Start.

Retired school workers who are interested in joining the group are invited to their monthly meeting which takes place the second Monday of each month. Contact President, Gary Schwartz for more information.
