Remembering Those Who Passed On in 2015

They may be gone but we will remember them in our way.

Some celebrities that have passed on in the past year:

Stuart Scott, 49, died on Jan. 4 of cancer. He was a sport broadcaster on ESPN.

Rod Taylor, 85, died on Jan. 7. The Australian starred in 50 films including The Birds.

Charles Townes, 99, was the inventor of the laser and was a Nobel Laureate. He died on Jan. 27.

Earl Lloyd, 87, died on Feb. 26. He was the first African-American NBA player and is in the NBA Hall of Fame.

Sam Simon, 60, died on March 8 of colon cancer. He was co-creator of The Simpsons.

Richard Dysart, 86, died on April 5. He was an Emmy winner actor known for playing Leland on the TV show L.A. Law.

Rock & Roll Famer Percy Sledge, 74, died on April 14. He is best known for the hit "When a Man Loves a Woman."

Beau Biden died on May 30 at age 46 of brain cancer. He was the son of Vice President Joe Biden and Delaware's attorney general.

"Dusty Rhodes" aka Virgil Runnels, 70, died on June 11. He was a WWE wrestler and trainer.

Sir Nicholas Winton, 106, died on July 1. He saved hundreds of children before the beginning of World War II. The queen knighted him in 2002.

Burt Shavitz, founder of Burt's Bees, died on July 5 at 80 years old.

Author Ann Rule, 83, wrote true crime stories including "The Stranger Beside Me" about serial killer Ted Bundy. She died July 28.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper, 61, was from WWE. Roderick George Toombs died of cardiac arrest on July 30.

Wes Craven died on Aug. 30 at 76 of brain cancer. He is best known for directing A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream series.

Football Hall of Famer Frank Gifford died on Aug. 15 from brain disease linked to head trauma from playing football. He was 84.

Julian Bond, 75, died on Aug. 15. He was involved in the civil rights movement and co-founder of Southern Poverty.

Actor Dean Jones, 84, died on Sept. 1 from complications of Parkinson's disease. He was in many Disney films including The Love Bug.

From Our Gang, Jean Darling, 93, died on Sept. 4. She was also an author.

Martin Milner, 83, died on Sept. 7. He starred in Route 66 and Adam-12.

Author of steamy novels Jackie Collins, 77, died of breast cancer.

Baseball Hall of Famer Yogi Berra, 90, died on Sept. 22. Also known for "Yogi-isms."

Maureen O'Hara, 95, died on Oct. 24. She acted in many films including A Miracle on 34th Street.

Al Molinaro, 96, died on Oct. 30. He is best known for being in Happy Days and The Odd Couple.

Fred Thompson, 73, died of lymphoma on Nov. 1. He was a Tennessee Republican U.S. senator also starred in Law & Order for a number of years.

David Canary, 77, died on Nov. 25. He was in Bonanza and All My Children.

Actor Robert Loggia, 85 was in many films including Scarface and Big. He died on Dec. 4.

George "Meadowlark" Lemon with the Harlem Globetrotters died on Dec. 27. He was 83.
