Blooming Prairie golfers Taylor Christianson and Tommy Braaten won medalist honors in cool, rainy conditions Tuesday.

Christianson shot 84 at the Dodge Country Club at the Triton invitational. BP coach Cory Hendrickson said it was a tough start for her, however, "She took a 10 on her first hole and then really played well after that. I was extremely pleased with the mental toughness she showed after starting the day so rough."

Hendrickson added, "Jessica Ressler shot a 103 and finished eighth. She is really improving and playing with a ton of confidence right now."

The Awesome Blossom boys hosted a Gopher Conference meet and captured first place, two strokes in front of Maple River, reversing the order of finish from Saturday's Blooming Prairie invite. BP shot 163. Braaten carded 37 to win the medalist honor. Teammate Lucas Noble tied for second with 38.

Maple River shot 165, USC came in with 173, Bethlehem Academy scored 199 and NRHEG was fifth with 203. Hendrickson said the regular season nine-hole conference meets will be added to the end of the season Gopher Conference tournament to determine the conference champion and all-conference recognition.
