Owatonna Native to Present Research to South Dakota Lawmakers

A University of South Dakota undergraduate from Owatonna will be presenting her research showcasing her project during the legislative poster session in Pierre, S.D., on Tuesday, March 1.

Senior Elizabeth Berg, a biology major at USD, is focusing on conservation ecology. Her laboratory research studied the amphibian population decline in global habitats from infectious diseases and pesticides.

Poster sessions present an opportunity for undergraduate students to show their research and highlight the university's investment in research and education. Co-sponsors of the poster sessions include Research Affairs Council of the South Dakota Board of Regents, South Dakota Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research Office (EPSCoR) and Governor's Office of Economic Development.

Founded in 1862, the University of South Dakota was the first university in the Dakotas. USD's 206 undergraduate and 66 graduate programs comprise the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, Law, Health Sciences and Sanford School of Medicine.
