Polars eliminate Blossoms 14-6 at state football tournament

Minneapolis North defeated Blooming Prairie 14-6 in the quarterfinals of the Class A state football tournament Friday at Richfield High School. That ends the Blossoms season at 11-1.

The Polars held BP quarterback John Rumpza to 10-of-31 passing for 100 yards and picked him off in the end zone late in the game to seal the win.

North QB Tyler Johnson had a 91-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and threw a TD pass. The Polars are 12-0 and advance to the state semifinals next week.
