Longtime youth wrestling coach Larry Hovden will enter the Mayo Civic Center Region 1 Wrestling Alumni Hall of Fame in February.

Hovden is also a longtime wrestling announcer on KRFO radio. He has served about 30 years as a junior high and youth coach. Hovden also leads the freestyle and Greco-Roman programs. He is also a previous winner of the National High School Assistant Coach of the Year award.

The ceremony is Monday, February 29, at the Marriott in downtown Rochester. A social time will be held from 5:30-6:30PM, with dinner and program at 6:30PM. For ticket information call (507) 358-7075.

Others to be inducted that night include the Kuisle family of Stewartville for how much they have given back to wrestling since their competition days. Jim Slifka was a 35-year veteran coach for Medford and is already a member of the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Associaton hall of fame.

The Owatonna High School team host No. 1AA Kasson-Mantorville on Thursday at 7PM and are hosting Takedown Cancer to raise money to help a local family. OHS travels to Albert Lea on Saturday. The varsity start time for Saturday has been changed to 5PM with radio coverage on Kat Kountry 105FM.
