Sue Peoples of Owatonna has been named feature artist for the Art on the Hills art festival. Around 30 artists will be showing and selling their creations on Saturday, July 29, from 9AM to 5PM and Sunday, July 30, from 10AM to 4PM. Sue will be demonstrating her craft during the art festival. Making a glass bead can take from as little as five minutes to as long as an hour and a half. She'll be bringing necklaces, bracelets, earrings and more.

Other type of arts to enjoy will include paintings, pottery, photography and more. Food on the grounds will include gyros and gourmet hot dogs. There will also be music throughout the event. Exhibitions on display in the Owatonna Arts Center are the sumie brush paintings of Renee Olson Sonka and the clay works of Lisa Buck. The Orphanage Museum will be open as well. Community Ed. will be on hand with activities for the kids.The Owatonna Arts Center will have a benefit Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, July 20, from 8AM to noon at the Owatonna Eagles Club.

There will also be a shuttle bus running from downtown Owatonna to the Arts Center and also to the Steele County History Center. The last weekend in July will also be a part of Crazy Daze in Owatonna.

A reminder that the Arts Center's annual Secret Garden Tour is this Sunday, July 23, from 10AM to 4PM. Advance tickets are on sale at the Arts Center and Kottke's.
