In a letter sent via email Thursday, Chuck Jamison thanked supporters as he prepares to enter retirement after 36 years as the Owatonna Young Life Area Director.

He said, "I couldn't have asked for anything better. We've had the opportunity to see kids transformed by Christ, meet and work alongside amazing people and our own kids have been blessed to grow up in Owatonna and be a part of Young Life."

Jamison has worked for Young Life for 40 years and says he will do some part-time work for the North Star Region with volunteer training and mentoring young staff, "Beyond that, Bonnie and I look forward to spending time with our four grandchildren and tackling some new adventures." Jamison announced his retirement during the school year.

He added that, "Owatonna YL is in the search for the next Area Director. That person will likely be in place by October or shortly thereafter...Our deepest gratitude goes out to all of you who helped us grow, supported kids and this ministry phenomenally and became our dear friends."

A retirement party for Jamison will be Saturday, July 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Owatonna from 1-4PM. A program will take place at 2PM. Call Young Life with any questions at (507) 451-9401.

Owatonna Young Life's website states, "Young Life, where you can be yourself, hand out with your friends, have fun and consider some important stuff about life!"
