Owatonna Scoreboard Sponsors Honored for their Commitment to Local Youth

The sponsors of several baseball scoreboards around Owatonna were recognized on Wednesday at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park.

Fans are treated to great scoreboards at a number of Owatonna ball fields. Businesses and organizations that have helped fund them were given plaques on Wednesday at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park before the American Legion took the field for a double header against Winona.

Owatonna Parks and Recreation, the Huskies Bullpen Club and the Owatonna Youth 1st program hosted Wednesday's ceremony.

The Owatonna Foundation has a long history of supporting community, education, arts and recreation. The foundation also had a hand in the Dartt's Park grandstand improvements a number of years ago.

Representatives of local businesses Federated Insurance, Hyvee Foods, Bremer Bank, Steve Zappa Insurance Agency and Jeff Loveless / Prairie Ridge Orthodontics were all presented with plaques.

Most summer nights you can find the scoreboard in use at Fuller Field. Thursday July 9 Post 77 will host Sioux Falls West at 5PM. Friday July 10 Aces baseball entertains the Austin Blue Sox at 7:30PM. The Owatonna VFW hosts its Summer Classic tournament this weekend which will include action at numerous fields around Owatonna.
