In a press release the Owatonna Police Department reports they are investigating two home invasion robberies that occurred over the holiday weekend.

Early Sunday morning just before 1AM an incident occurred in the 400 block of East Main Street. Two residents were in the abasement of the home when a single masked individual entered a bedroom and pointed a shotgun at the victims The assailant escaped with two cell phones. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a black mask, black "Members Only" type jack and black wind pants.

On Monday evening around 9:30PM in the 1100 block of East Rice Lake Street a single male victim answered a knock at the door when two or three black males forced their way into the home. The victim was punched in the face and knocked unconscious. As a result the victim suffered substantial facial injuries. The assailants made off with a large screen TV, cash and coins.

The Owatonna Police Department is continuing their investigation. Anyone with information in regards to one or both of these incidents is encouraged to contact authorities.
