Get ready to flip your calendar to fall. Owatonna Parks and Recreation has opened youth fall sports registration for football, volleyball and swimming lessons.

Youth football for fifth- and sixth-graders is called the Junior Huskies. Third- and fourth-graders are the Mighty Huskies. Games are held weekday evenings. The cost is $42. Registration also will be Wednesday, August 10, during the youth football camp hosted by the high school program.

First- and second-grade football focuses on football skills and plays mini games. No football equipment is needed. The registration fee is $26.

Youth volleyball is for third- through sixth-graders and is an introductory program to the sport. It starts with a clinic on August 31 at the high school gym. The fee is $35. A coaches meeting will be held the same night.

Fees go up after August 10.

Owatonna Park and Rec is also organizing a youth pickleball program. The six-session class will allow youth to learn the up and coming sport. Pickleball is played on a court slightly smaller than tennis. Players use a paddle and whiffle ball.

Swimming lesson signup is also open. There are a variety of levels and schedules available.

Owatonna High School fall sports signup has also begun.
