A fundraising event for The Children Remembered-Orphanage Legacy Trust will be Saturday, September 17, from 2-5PM. It will take place on the State School Orphanage grounds at West Hills Owatonna. Admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Highlights will include horse-drawn wagon rides around the grounds with History Stops along the way. There will be five actors portraying different characters from the orphanage. They include actors at the school, hospital, girls cottage and other locations.

Musical entertainment include guitarists and a harpist.

There will be face painting along with games from yesteryear such as jacks, yo-yo, hopscotch and jump roping. There will also be tumbling demonstrations from the Pillsbury campus. A scavenger hunt will be available to participate in as well.

The museum will open along with Cottage 11, and a photo booth will be open as well. Brick memorial pavers will be on sale for $100.

The latest forecast is calling for dry conditions and a high around 70 on Saturday. Come on out and enjoy a bit of Owatonna's history.
