Allina Health will again take part in Free Bikes 4 Kidz. This will be the sixth year that the two have teamed up to collect and donate bikes to kids throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Donors may drop off their gently used or new bikes at the Owatonna Hospital at 2250 N.W. 26th St. on Saturday, October 8, from 9AM to 1PM.

Last year, nearly 500 bikes were collected in the area, with 75 of those bikes being distributed to Toys for Tots in Owatonna and the rest going to other nonprofits in the region. A record 5,500 bikes were collected at Allina locations last year.

The bikes will be disbursed in early December and again in the spring. Kids also will receive free bike helmets and concussion prevention information from Allina Health at the bike distribution points.

You can learn more by going to the Bikes 4 Kidz website. You can also go to the site if you would be able to clean and prepare the donated bikes for distribution.
