The Owatonna boys won a back-and-forth game 5-4 in overtime at North St. Paul. The OHS girls blanked Winona 5-0. Both teams are home on Tuesday.

The Owatonna boys jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period at Polar Arena. Carter Broton scored on a nice assist from John Swenson. Kade Friedrichs scored on a hard low shot from the point. Tyler Wencl finished off a 2-on-0 break with Noah Scheid. North St. Paul scored three in the second period to even the game. North went up 4-3 early in the third but Scheid tied the game a short time later with a breakaway goal for the final tally of regulation. In overtime, Owatonna's Adam Rehman won an offensive zone face-off and nearly scored. Scheid followed up with the winner 3:15 into overtime for a 5-4 win.

Owatonna (2-3) will host Winona at 7PM Tuesday in the second game of a girls-boys doubleheader. The Owatonna girls host Rochester Century at 5PM on KRFO AM 1390.

Saturday the OHS girls scored four first-period goals and beat Winona 5-0. Margo Achterkirch knocked in two in the opening period. Asia Buryska only needed to make seven saves to get the shutout victory. The Huskies improved to 6-3 with the win.
